Maintain Your BMI For a Healthy Life

 BMI For a Healthy Life

Hello everyone, today I would like to tell you about obesity and the various health problems related to it and its prevention. What is Obesity? Obesity can be defined as excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. A fit and healthy person is neither skinny nor overweight. Your body weight and height should be proportional. If your body weight and height are balanced, you're considered a fit person. There is a simple formula to measure BODY MASS INDEX called BMI in-short.

Obesity is measured by Body Mass Index. BMI is measured by dividing your weight by your height per sq. meter. If your BMI ratio is 16.0-18.5, you're considered underweight. A person is considered fit if the BMI is between 18.5-24.9. If your BMI exceeds 25.0 then you're considered overweight.

An unhealthy lifestyle is the cause of an unhealthy body

There are various causes of obesity. One of the main causes of obesity is an unhealthy lifestyle. Eating too much junk food, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive eating, stress, and lack of exercise can also cause obesity. Alcohol contains a lot of empty calories which doesn't provide the body with any nutrients. Obesity is a serious health problem and can be fatal if not treated. Excessive secretion of hormones like cortisol and androgens can also cause obesity. These hormones are secreted due to stress and excessive secretion of these hormones transforms cholesterol into fat which causes obesity.

Obesity also affects our hormone system and metabolism which leads to various heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, strokes, etc. Obesity is the root of many diseases. It also affects our liver and kidney and can cause various respiratory disorders. Obesity also causes fatigue, exhaustion and can majorly affect your lifestyle.

Most importantly, don't give in to your urges and take note of your body's dietary requirements. Obesity can be very harmful and even fatal for you.
