Organ Donation: An initiative can save many lives.
No caste – No bar – save lives – Donate Organs
Hello everyone, welcome to the Stay Fit with Health Tips segment.
Today I will talk about an important topic called Organ Donation. Everyone must pledge to donate their organs after death, your decision to donate your organs can save the lives of many people even after your death. Organs can be transplanted if the patient is brain dead. Braindead means that the patient's brain has stopped working but the rest of the body is intact. Some organs can be extracted up to 4-6 hours after the death of an individual.
Many organs in a human's body can be extracted and transplanted into another human being after the death of an individual. Eyes can be extracted and transplanted into another human 3-4 hours after death, your donated eyes can give light to someone. Heart, liver, kidney, lungs, pancreas, and intestines can be transplanted into other people and save the lives of those in need.
You must have read in the newspaper that donors saved the lives of other persons by donating their hearts after death. The government makes green corridors to transport the organs to the patients. 'Green Corridor' is a procedure where a certain route is cleared to transport organs to critical patients for the transplant.

The permission of the family of the deceased is needed if the doctors want to transplant an organ from a body. There is a common misbelief in our country that if a person's organs are removed from their body then that person can't go to heaven or they may have trouble in the next birth. Due to this misbelief, many people don't allow doctors to extract organs from their loved one's bodies.
