Pneumonia: The biggest enemy of children's smiles.

Your alertness can save their lives.

Hello friends, in today's talk segment we will discuss pneumonia disease. You must have heard about pneumonia. This is a disease that is more common in children. According to the WHO, pneumonia kills millions of children in the world every year, and most of them are children between the ages of one and five. In India too, a large number of children fall prey to pneumonia. Although adults also catch this disease, children are more prone to it.

Colds and coughs also sometimes take the form of pneumonia. If the symptoms of pneumonia are not recognized and treated in time, it can be fatal. Pneumonia means infection of the lungs. This causes swelling in the lungs

Common symptoms of pneumonia are chest pain while breathing or coughing, cough with greenish-yellow sputum, fever with sweating and chills, difficulty in breathing, extreme tiredness, loss of appetite, etc. Symptoms of pneumonia include rapid breathing, wheezing, fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, and difficulty in breathing in children.

If you see such symptoms, then contact the doctor immediately, and tell him about the problem. The doctor will examine you and give you the right treatment. Keep in mind, that timely treatment is essential. Apart from this, children must be vaccinated to prevent pneumonia. Pneumococcal vaccine, PCV13, and Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine can protect against bacterial pneumonia.

There are other things I would like to tell you, don't smoke, don't drink excessively and be careful even if you are a patient with asthma, heart disease or bronchitis. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and cover your mouth while coughing and sneezing.
