Hands, Read Here to Know More
A very warm greeting to all my readers, in today’s talk, I am going to share with you the importance of water and how it can be conserved. As we all know that the level of groundwater is receding with every passing day, we strictly need to mend our ways of using water in our daily lives. We all agree that water is the most essential thing to ensure the life and sustainability of nature. Hence, we must do everything possible to save as much water as we can.
The summer has started to torment people with its heat waves during the day. The cities and other places, especially remote villages, are suffering from a shortage of water. In times like these, especially in Rajasthan where the shortage of water is a big concern, we must strive to minimalize the usage of water. Nowadays, there is a shortage of drinking water; the water levels in dams have diminished as compared to the past; even the wells, lakes, and ponds in most areas have all dried up. What is left for us to use must be used in the strategic and right way. If we fail to mend our ways now, unfortunately, the situation will drastically change and it will be very tough to control the water problem in the future.
Fortunately, the measures that must be taken to save water are not a Herculean task. If we bring small changes in our lives, it can make a big impact on solving our water crisis.
Here is a list of things that, if adopted, will solve some percentage of the water crisis that we are currently facing.
· We must not keep our taps running while brushing our teeth; we waste a lot of water in the act. Moreover, we also need to keep a check on the amount of water we consume while taking a bath. We should minimize the usage of water in bathing.
· The same goes for our pets; we must not waste a lot of water in giving them a bath.
· While cleaning our vehicles, we must not use the pressure pump. Instead, we must use a bucket and cloth to cleanse our vehicles.
· We should also avoid constant tap flow to do our dishes. Also, the water used in washing our vegetables should be used in gardening instead of using tap water.
· If you encounter a leakage in your household, get it repaired on priority to save the water. Moreover, if you see leakage in pipes anywhere else apart from your home, you must inform the authorities as soon as possible.
· Monsoon is not far, and once it arrives, you must learn how to harvest the rainwater.
· As a community, it is our responsibility to take care of the wells and ponds so that they can be utilized on a greater level.
At last, I would like to conclude by saying that we should save water right in our homes, and that is the best thing we can do. We must teach our kids to use the water in the right manner. If we understand the responsibility of saving water and take up precautionary methods, we can eradicate the water problems we are facing in our lives right now.
