Prof. (Dr.) Balvir Singh Tomar Oration organized for the first time at NIMS University

 



 
 

NIMS University is a world-class university leaving its mark not just in India but in many countries abroad. The University provides 400+ courses to its students and caters for the best education for its students. The university emerged through the thought of Prof. (Dr) Balvir Singh Tomar.

 

Dr Tomar, Chairman of the NIMS and Niflux group of companies, is a gem when it comes to providing quality education to students through his vision. Such a great personality in the field of medicine, especially Paediatrics. He was the first Paediatrician to study abroad and found a cure for one of the deadliest diseases in children called ‘Indian Childhood Cirrhosis.’. Therefore, the Board of Management decided to organize an oration to honour his achievements in the medical field. 

 

NIMS University, its Board of Management, and the Academic Council took the liberty to organize the first-ever Prof. (Dr) Balvir Singh Tomar Oration. The board has decided to continue this tradition every year where top guns in the medical field will be invited as an orator. Through this event, the students studying at NIMS University will learn new things about the medical line and they will have good exposure to the world of medicines through the exemplary people who will come to the oration.

 

 

 
 

The first oration of Prof. (Dr) Balvir Singh Tomar was organized on the 28th of May, 2022. The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries present in the Rajeshwari Auditorium of the NIMS University. 

 

The Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S Tomar Oration was graced by Prof. (Dr) Dibyendu Mazumdar, President of the Dental Council of India, and a prestigious doctor, who talked about the changing trends in dental education. In his speech, Dr Mazumdar elaborated on the versatile personality of the Chairman of the NIMS University. Dr Mazumdar elaborated on the current scenario of dental education in India. He also expressed concern about the big number of Oral cancers in India. He also briefed about new treatment techniques. 

 

At this event, NIMS University honoured him with Prof. (Dr.) Balvir Singh Tomar Oration Award and the standing ovation.
