The Hugo Grotius Law Library; another milestone in the journey of Dr Balvir Singh Tomar

 A long journey is completed with many milestones on the way. Same as NIMS University has already completed its 21 years of moving on the success path, and the journey continues uninterrupted. In this context, Tuesday, 27 September 2022, was a big day when the newly designed Hugo GrotiusLaw Library in the NIMS School of Law was inaugurated, and another milestone was added to the history of NIMS University on the day.




NIMS University is now focusing on the NIMS School of Law after making its Medical, Engineering, Media, and Management courses world-class and providing education and facilities per international standards.

Recently we have improved the infrastructure of the Law school; modern classrooms, a hi-tech moot courtroom for giving a realistic approach, and other latest features have been added. Hugo Grotius Law Library is one of them, and it is an excellent gift for our law students. The library's name is kept in the name of a famous Dutch lawyer Hugo Grotius, also considered the founding father of modern international law. It has a massive collection of reference books, journals, law reports, digests, statutes, legal dictionaries, legal encyclopedias, and other law-related publications. This results from outstanding efforts by Dr. Surabhi Tomar Sharma, Director of NIMS University.


We wanted to inaugurate this library in the presence of a distinguished personality in the field of law and desired that our students would benefit from their knowledge and experience. Therefore we requested Hon'ble Mr. Justice Birendra Kumar, Judge, Rajasthan High Court, to come to NIMS University and join the event. He has a brilliant academic background as the topper and sets an example by an outstanding contribution to the nation in the field of law. A Living Legends of Law (LLL) session also was scheduled for the guest-student interaction. 



On the day, Hon'ble Mr. Justice made us proud with his presence at NIMS University. He inaugurated the Hugo Grotius Law Library and interacted with our students on 'Advocacy skill and development' in the LLL session. During his visit, I had a great conversation with him and introduced him to NIMS University, NIMS Hospital, News India 24x7, and Niflux LED Lights. The film of NIMS's 21 years of the journey also was displayed.

Inauguration and Orientation Program: A momentous day at NIMS International School

 On Sunday 18th of July, NIMS International School organized an 'Inauguration and Orientation program' for students and their parents at NIMS University premises. It was a fantastic moment when we were graced by the presence of Nepal's Ambassador to India, H.E. Dr. Shankar P Sharma, as a chief guest, Mr. Yadunath Poudel, Cultural and Educational Counselor at the Embassy of Nepal, and pop singer Mr. Ashok Masti as a special guest. In addition, Mr. Mukesh k Meena, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, joined the event as a guest of honor. The NIMS International School renovated building has been inaugurated by dignitaries in the program.
